Utility Rebate Coordination

Why

When your organization is considering a construction or maintenance repair or upgrade, utility rebate/incentive programs can be a great aid in lowering the upfront capital needed to do these projects. Whether it’s a compressed air leak study or an LED lighting retro-fit, your utility provider likely has an incentive available. Rebates enable you to choose energy-efficient technology, which will decrease your long-term energy costs and accelerate your sustainability efforts.

Every program is different. Whether you have one, twenty or two hundred projects throughout the year, let Foresight help your team capture as many incentive dollars from your utility provider as possible. Deadlines come quickly, details can be missed, and coordination between vendors, utility providers, and project managers can get complicated. With a dedicated partner driving this work, Foresight ensures you’ll optimize the available programs.

How

Foresight is here to simplify the incentive process for you. Every program is unique in regards to eligible projects, notification protocols, application requirements, and timeframes. We have worked with hundreds of utility providers across the country and understand these various factors so you’ll be empowered to capitalize on these incentives before they expire. Our experts will work with you to get the necessary information on your project(s) and handle all the back and forth coordination between the utility provider and other project stakeholders.

Benefits

• Improved return on investment

Case Study

Client Profile
Multi-state grocer with 200+ locations, completing 20-30 projects a year.

Before Foresight
This company was implementing dozens of energy saving construction and maintenance projects per year across their portfolio of grocery stores. They did not have a dedicated process or resources in place to ensure all utility incentives were being captured across these many projects. In fact, it is likely that less than 20% of all eligible projects were capturing the rebates, ultimately leaving millions of dollars on the table each year.

After Foresight
Foresight developed a systematic process for collecting information from each project scheduled for the year and conducted research into the different utility provider’s incentive programs. Our team took the reins on completing all rebate applications and coordinating with utility program administrators. We managed all ongoing correspondence with the utility company and vendors to see the process through to completion - including site visits and additional energy analysis. In addition to rebates for their new construction projects, all 200+ existing stores were upgraded to LED lights with each site participating in an incentive program. Over the course of three years, our team helped coordinate over $5,000,000 worth of rebates.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does this service cost?

We perform this service in one of two ways: either a flat fee per incentive coordinated or a percentage of the rebate we are able to secure.

How long does an incentive project take?

This depends on your utility provider and the length of your project. On average the projects take four to six months to complete from initial consultation to receiving the money in your account.

Are you limited to a particular kind of utility?

No! Our team can coordinate custom and prescriptive rebates from both electric and natural gas utility providers.

Do you have to come on-site for this?

Not usually, but we are willing to if the project requires it. We only need to be put in contact with the right parties and we take it from there!

Since 2007, Foresight clients have realized well over $20,000,000 in utility rebates throughout North America.
